The final day of racing at the UTV World Championship (UTVWC) continued in Lake Havasu City, Arizona this past weekend. The largest side-by-side event has held up to its name with a large number of entries and the number of spectators that came out to support.
Racing began at the crack of dawn which allowed the first group cooler temperatures than the rest of the day. Taking off the line at 7 am, the first UTV’s headed onto what the racers had been saying is one of the toughest courses they have ever been on.
Just as the day before, the course gave the racers everything it had and took many of them out of the race. The terrain was unforgiving and many days were ended early due to the problems caused by the terrain.
In the end, it was Chris Blais, driving the U905 car, who came out strong and took the win in the Rally Class. After suffering a tragic motocross accident paralyzing him from the waist down, nothing has held him back.

Overall it was a great weekend and one that will become a staple once again on teams schedules. The new course in Lake Havasu is great for the sport and we can only see it expanding in the years to come.
