On the trail staying safe should be the main focus not if parts are going to fail. Stage 8‘s Dana 60 Axle Flange Locking Bolt Kit (PN DNA60-AX) creates peace of mind that they won’t come loose no matter what they are put through.
The Dana 60 axle flange kit was designed specifically to address the needs of the off-road community and provides an easy solution to off-roader’s constant battle with loosening bolts. A bolt coming off in the dirt can cause damage to not only what it is supposed to be holding tight, but to other parts as well.
We recently had the chance to install the kit on a Dana 60 axle to see how easy the product was to install.
The 20-piece kit includes eight grooved Stage 8 locking bolts, four laser-cut stainless steel locking bridge retainers, and eight retaining clips. Each kit is enough to do one side of the axle so remember to order two when doing your Dana 60.
“The Dana 60 axle flange kit is easy to install with no special tools,” Bruce Bennett, President of Stage 8 explained. “Stage 8 Locking Fasteners retrofit easily and are available in both U.S. and Metric sizes. All are proudly made in the USA and are unaffected by shock, vibration or thermal cycling Stage 8 Fasteners keep components tightly bolted together increasing dependability.”
We removed all but two factory bolts on the axle flange before tightening up the Stage 8 bolts. This allowed us to keep the axle flange tight and not have to worry about losing any fluid.
To get the locking bridges attached to two bolts, some bolts may need to be tightened or loosened to allow them to rotate and be aligned correctly with the other bolt. The bridges should slide over the two bolts easily before attaching the poodle clips securing the bridge.
As Stage 8 said, the Dana 60 axle flange kit was extremely easy to install. The entire install took around 30 minutes and can be done without removing the wheel as long as there is no center cap.
When properly installed, your Dana 60 axle flange will never loosen or break free. The kit is easily removable when it comes time to service your axle shafts. For more information on Stage 8’s products or to find the product for your project, be sure to visit their website.
