Off-Road Takes Over Vegas For 2020 Mint 400

It is that time of year again, for the off-road industry to strut its stuff down Las Vegas Boulevard. The 2020 Mint 400 kicks off a week-long party in Sin City on March 4th.

The week does start a couple of days earlier for The Mint 400 Desert Clean-Up event on February 29th. Event staging is happening in Jean, Nevada, half-mile down on the south side of Southern Nevada Liteweight Road. For more details on the cleanup and to register, be sure to visit the website.

The week’s festivities start with one of our favorites, the vehicle parade down Las Vegas Boulevard. This is a wonderful way to let everyone in Vegas see off-road vehicles cruise down the strip. We bet that if you are in a casino, you will see people running out to hear what’s coming.

On Thursday, qualifying goes down and will set the stage for who will be matched up leaving the starting line. But before race day there are two action-packed days on Fremont Street in Downtown Las Vegas. During Tech and Contingency, the top off-road companies will be lining the path for the teams and fans.

The Mint 400 recently announced their new race format for this year’s event giving drivers what they have been asking for, 400 miles. For the first time since 2014, four laps will decide who takes home the 2020 crown for The Great American Off-Road Race.

With today’s technology, there is no reason that people can’t be apart of the event even being in another state or another part of the world. The Mint 400 live stream is back and bigger than ever.

“The success of The Mint 400 live stream the past two years has really grown the overall value of the event,” Mint 400 CEO, Matt Martelli said. “Our production team is top-notch and delivers viewers around the world the opportunity to follow The Mint 400 action as it unfolds. We have pulled out all the stops this year with the help of our title sponsor BFGoodrich Tires and created a massive coverage map that includes seven ground cameras, drone cameras, and live feeds from the helicopter.”

“This year, we will be adding onboard cameras of select racers so fans can watch what’s happening in their vehicles in real-time,” Martelli continued. “That has only ever been done in short course off-road racing. We have made this investment simply to show the world how remarkable desert off-road racing is.”
