Ford Changes Bronco Release Date After Backlash

One of the most iconic vehicles in the off-road world is the Ford Bronco, one of the most iconic high-speed chases of all time was OJ Simpson in a white Ford Bronco. After facing backlash because of the upcoming July 9th release date of the Bronco, which also happens to be OJ Simpson’s birthday, Ford has announced that the reveal has been postponed.

Mark Truby, Ford’s communications chief, tweeted on Friday that the company will move the debut to July 13:

UPDATE: The reveal of the all-new Ford Bronco lineup will now happen on Monday, July 13. The previous targeted date of July 9 unintentionally coincided with O.J. Simpson’s birthday. We wanted to be sensitive and respectful of this concern.

This is now the second postponement of the highly anticipated release of the Bronco. Ford was supposed to unveil the vehicle in the spring, but that had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

With the off-road world sitting on the edge of their seats to finally see what the rebirth of this legendary vehicle will look like will have to wait four more days. In this case, do good things come to those who wait?
