Champ Off-Road Series Heads Into Second Event

Dirt City Motorplex will be the second event of the Championship Off-Road series season. This event will be the venue’s first time holding Pro4, Pro2, and Pro-Lite trucks. Dirt City Motorplex is located around 30 miles from Packer country as it sits in the heartland of off-road racing, being just a short drive from Green Bay.

A group of local drivers, business owners, and motorsports enthusiasts have come together to form Lena Motorsports Club, which helped build the Dirt City Motorplex Off-Road National.

On Friday, July 24th, at 6:00 pm, fans will be able to get an up-close and personal look at the trucks that will be raced over the weekend. There will also be a meet and greet in the village where trucks and drivers will be on display.

Pro Trucks

The 2020 year will be Johnny Greaves’ 20th season in Pro4, in which he has won seven points championships and 99 races. Greaves is one of the only two drivers in history to win a race in Pro Buggy, Pro-Lite, Pro2, Pro4, and Pro SxS.

Kyle Kleiman moved up into the Pro2 ranks last season after back to back Pro-Lite championships. After claiming two victories in his rookie Pro2 campaign, the driver from Wilson, Michigan will aim to take more wins and the Pro 2 championship crown in 2020.

Kyle Greaves, the nephew of Johnny Greaves, has stepped into the Pro-Lite ranks in 2020 and has already earned himself much success. “KGB” will look to continue the Greaves legacy in a new truck he and his father built this past winter.

After some rookie struggles transitioning into Pro-Lite from Pro Stock Sxs, Dillon Pointon will be a podium contender in Pro-Lite this year, piloting a brand new truck built by renowned chassis builder and former Pro2 champion Mikey VandenHeuvel.

With over two decades of experience and countless championships in the 1600 Buggy class, Mark Steinhardt moved to a Pro Buggy in 2016 and has finished in the top five in points every season. “Steiny” is looking to claim his first Pro Buggy championship in 2020.

After having a near-guaranteed win taken away by a blown engine last season at Bark River, Cory Winner is sure to build on the speed from his rookie Pro2 season of 2019. Winner unfortunately suffered an injury during the opening rounds and at this time, his status is unknown.

Pro SxS

CJ Greaves went undefeated en route to his second career Pro Stock SxS championship in 2019. In addition to defending his Pro Stock SxS title, Greaves added a second Yamaha machine to his stable this season, which he took the podium twice at ERX.

Polaris driver Jason Luburgh will also be competing in both Pro Stock and Pro Mod SxS classes this season. A former Crandon World Cup champion in SxS competition, Luburgh figures to battle with the likes of Greaves, Chaney, and VanEperen all season long.

Scottie Lawrence is aiming to dethrone Can-Am teammate Kyle Chaney in Pro Mod SxS this season. The duo will be running double-duty this season, with both running Pro4’s in addition to their Can-Ams in 2020.

After starting on the pole for the second time in his career at Round 2, Elliott Burns finished in fourth place, capturing his first top-five finish of the season.

Elk River, Minnesota native Andrew Carlson traded in his Pro2 keys to return to the Pro Mod SxS class where his off-road career began. Piloting a new Polaris machine, the rising off-road star will be a podium threat all season long.

Wildcat driver Jack LeTourneau will attempt to break Yamaha’s multi-season long stranglehold on the Pro Stock SxS division. LeTourneau, alongside teammate Jeremy Houle, showed great speed at the 2020 opener at ERX Motor Park in Minnesota.
